Christmas Flourish: Songs of the Season!
The Garrett Choral Society will present our annual holiday concert, Christmas Flourish: Songs for the Season, on Sunday, December 21 at 3pm in the Daniel Offutt III Theatre at the Performing Arts Center at Garrett College.  Under the direction of Debi and Sean Beachy, the choir will perform a mixture of sacred and secular songs that will enliven your holiday season!
Some of the selections include a rousing rendition of Jingle Bells, a beautiful setting of O Magnum Mysterium, and a medley of familiar carols titled O Come and Sing of Christmas. We will also present a modern version of the 19^th century Austrian carol As Lately We Watched, the spiritual See That Star, and an original Dan Forrest composition called Carol of Joy. The group has also invited regional brass musicians to accompany us on several selections, including the Canadian Brass piece The Angel Choir and the Trumpeter, as well as a larger work titled Christmas Flourish by Randal Alan Bass. In addition, we will have local percussionist Derek Skidmore and pianist Grace Buckingham join us on a few pieces. We hope you will join us to celebrate the season!
The Garrett Choral Society is supported in part by the Maryland State Arts Council and the Garrett County Arts Council.  Tickets will be available online at www.performingartsgc.com/ and at the door.  Prices are $15 for adults, $5 for students and free for age 5 and under.
