Joan Crawford Lecture Series: Shallmar's Last Stand
Join us for our Joan Crawford Lecture Series (JCLS) on Wednesday, September 10th, at 6:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center, where James Rada Jr., author and historian, will provide an educational exploration of the past coal mining town of Shallmar.
Explore the history of Shallmar, a coal mining town situated on the North Branch of the Upper Potomac River, a once-thriving community that was left impoverished and on the brink of starvation when the mines closed.
The Joan Crawford Lecture Series of presentations is offered free of charge, and the general public and community members are invited to attend.
