Remembrance Day National Roll Call at Garrett College

Join us for the annual National Roll Call honoring and recognizing the sacrifices of American servicemen and women on Friday, November 11, 2016 in the Garrett College auditorium on the McHenry campus. The program will begin at 7:30 a.m. as volunteers step to the podium to begin reading names of the fallen. At 2 p. m. Eastern Standard Time all colleges involved in the National Roll Call will participate in a nationwide simultaneous “minute of silence”. At Garrett College this will be followed by Cecil Glotfelty playing ‘Amazing Grace’ on bagpipes. Closing ceremony of the Roll Call will be at 4:30 p.m. with a 21-gun salute and the playing of Taps by the Honor Guard of VFW Post 10077. Following Taps, there will be a Veteran Dinner at the Garrett College Community Aquatic and Recreation Complex (CARC) to honor our Veterans. Veterans will also be honored at the Garrett College men’s basketball game that evening at 7pm at the CARC Gymnasium.
