Fundraiser benefiting Garrett Mentors at Uno Chicago Grill

Please print and present the attached certificate to your server at  UNO on TUESDAY, MARCH 10, 2015  at the time of payment to have up to 20% of your check’s value, excluding tax and tip, donated to Garrett Mentors. Garrett Mentors, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded in 2008 serving Garrett County, Maryland. We are committed to providing elementary school children in the Garrett County Public Schools in need of positive, adult role models, with caring, committed, adult mentors. Our volunteer mentors are adults of all ages who serve as positive role models to children with various needs and backgrounds.Mentors meet with the child they are matched with once a week during the child’s lunchtime at the child’s school. We also provide our children and their mentors with several out-of-school bonding experiences throughout the year.   Overall, the children in the program have been reported to have improved in classroom behaviors, respect for authority, relationships with adults and peers, self-concept and confidence, engagement in school and learning and attendance. Teacher feedback provides that mentors have also helped their child’s grades to improve in various subjects and that the child’s feelings and attitudes about themselves and their abilities have improved by the special bond the child and the mentor share.
